About MyoMentor

Sarah K Hornsby

RDH · Founder of MyoMentor

Sarah K. Hornsby is an internationally recognized myofunctional therapist, educator, entrepreneur, and one of the leading voices advancing airway-centered healthcare.

A former dental hygienist, Sarah recognized early in her career that many chronic health concerns couldn't be understood by looking at the mouth in isolation. That realization sparked a mission to help healthcare professionals connect the dots between oral function, breathing, sleep, facial development, and whole-body health.

In 2014, she founded Faceology, one of the first fully online myofunctional therapy practices, making specialized care accessible to patients around the world. That same year, she launched MyoMentor, pioneering one of the first comprehensive online myofunctional therapy training programs and redefining how clinicians learn, collaborate, and build successful practices.

Today, Sarah has trained thousands of healthcare professionals worldwide and continues to champion interdisciplinary collaboration, evidence-informed education, and mentorship that empowers clinicians to confidently change lives.

Pioneering the future of orofacial health through education, collaboration, and root-cause care.

I Built the Mentorship I Wish I'd Had

Helping clinicians change healthcare: one patient, one practice, and one profession at a time.

I believe healthcare changes when clinicians learn to see the whole picture.

For more than a decade, I've dedicated my career to helping healthcare professionals recognize the powerful connections between breathing, oral function, sleep, facial development, and whole-body health, so they can identify dysfunction earlier, collaborate more effectively, and improve lives in ways they never imagined.

Today, MyoMentor has trained thousands of healthcare professionals around the world. Our graduates are transforming patient care in dentistry, dental hygiene, speech-language pathology, medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, chiropractic, lactation, and many other healthcare disciplines. Watching those clinicians build thriving practices and make a lasting impact in their communities has become one of the greatest privileges of my career.

But that isn't where my story began.

After earning my bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from Eastern Washington University, I loved caring for patients. Yet over time, I realized traditional clinical hygiene wasn't where I was meant to stay. I wanted to understand the why behind the recurring problems I was seeing every day, not simply treat the symptoms.

That search led me to myofunctional therapy.

Like so many clinicians entering this field, I invested heavily in courses, conferences, travel, and continuing education. I gained knowledge, but I didn't gain confidence.

What I really needed wasn't another certificate.

I needed someone to help me apply what I was learning to real patients, navigate complex cases, build referral relationships, communicate with providers, and create a successful practice. I needed mentorship.

Instead, I found myself figuring everything out through trial and error.

The questions every new myofunctional therapist asks…

01How do I build a referral network when many providers have never heard of myofunctional therapy?
02How do I confidently explain treatment recommendations and fees to patients?
03What do I do when patients aren't progressing or become noncompliant?
04How do I collaborate effectively with dentists, physicians, orthodontists, and other healthcare providers?
05What systems do I need to manage patients, referrals, documentation, and a growing practice?

Those weren't questions another certification could answer.

They were questions that only experience and mentorship could.

Eventually, I built the thriving practice I had envisioned. Today, Faceology serves patients from around the world, and I have had the opportunity to lecture internationally, collaborate with leaders across multiple healthcare disciplines, and help advance the understanding of myofunctional therapy within modern healthcare.

But I never forgot how overwhelming those early years felt.

That's when I realized something important.

It shouldn't take years of trial and error to become a confident myofunctional therapist.

Why MyoMentor Exists

MyoMentor was created to bridge the gap between education and real-world success.

Healthcare is changing. More providers than ever recognize that breathing, sleep, oral function, facial development, and whole-body health are deeply connected. Yet few receive the guidance needed to confidently recognize dysfunction, collaborate across disciplines, and integrate these concepts into everyday patient care.

That's where MyoMentor comes in.

We don't simply teach myofunctional therapy.

We provide mentorship, accountability, community, and practical guidance from experienced clinicians who understand the challenges you're facing because we've lived them ourselves.

Our goal isn't just to help you complete a course.

Our goal is to help you become the confident clinician your patients need, build a practice you love, and join a community that's committed to advancing the future of healthcare together.

Because what took me years to learn through experience, I believe you can learn with the right guidance, the right community, and the right mentors beside you.

If MyoMentor can shorten that journey for you, and make it a whole lot more enjoyable along the way, then we've accomplished exactly what we set out to do.

Anyone who's taken the MyoMentor course knows that Ash always goes above and beyond when it comes to student and graduate support. His passion for myo stems from the fact that he had some amazing results from myofunctional therapy and having his own tongue-tie released.

Ash is based in the USA today, but he's originally from South Africa and New Zealand, which explains his interesting accent.
