This course offers nine hours of CE
There will be six 90-minute modules, each with a 60-minute lecture and a 30-minute discussion to go over the content and ask questions.
Each session will be held on a Friday at 11 AM Pacific / 2 PM Eastern.

Module One - February 28th - An Introduction to Myo and Orthodontics
Many orthodontic options are available today, ranging from simple but effective prefabricated appliances to incredibly sophisticated, surgically-assisted expansion procedures. But how did we get here?
Understanding the history and overall philosophy of orthodontics and appliances is critical to discerning the right choice for every unique case.
This module sets the stage for the rest of the course, allowing us to get in-depth and specific in the following modules.
Module Two - March 7th - Simple And Ready To Use Appliances
Prefab appliances are some of the most commonly encountered ortho treatment options, and you'll work with them frequently.
These appliances include MyoMunchee, Myobrace, The Healthy Start System, Tooth Pillow, Biobloc Orthotropics, and Vivos, among others.
Module Three - March 14th - General Orthodontic Appliances
This will be one of the most interesting parts of the course! There are so many different appliances and so many approaches to expansion that it can be difficult to follow them all.
Melissa will break them down as follows:

Module Four - March 21st - Surgical Approaches To Orthodontics
There are some amazingly innovative ortho approaches that use surgical techniques to accelerate or facilitate expansion.

Course Presenter
Melissa is a pioneer of the modern myofunctional and airway-focused movement. Since being introduced to alternative orthodontic systems and appliances in 2009, she has never looked back.
Spending the first part of her career educating and training patients and staff in the offices she was directing, it became clear that there was work to be done in advancing the functional airway movement.
She decided to leave her role in private practice and began the journey of becoming a myofunctional therapist in 2013. Her passion for patient and provider education has allowed her to lecture around the country, bringing her high energy and drive to the field.
Sarah Hornsby
Course Host
Sarah is a myofunctional therapist, educator, and internationally recognized speaker from Carefree, Arizona.
Over the past decade, her practice, Faceology, has transformed from an in-person, conventional myofunctional therapy clinic to an all-online telehealth practice employing multiple therapists.
She created MyoMentor in 2015 to train and mentor healthcare professionals who want to integrate myofunctional therapy into their practices. Over 1,500 professionals have graduated from her program since then.
